What causes dirt to freeze on the side of my knife, is there a solution?

Dirt can freeze to the side of your knife for a number of reasons. If your harvest happens later in the year or takes longer than you intended, lower temperatures and moisture can cause freeze-ups. ShieldAg’s Freezeless Knives feature a tube saver non-steel tube, eliminating the freezing issue and allowing you to get work done quickly and efficiently.

Does ShieldAg offer plot planters?

The ShieldAg Acra Drill Unit (ADU) is a double disc opener designed as a conversion for existing grain drills or row planters. Some of its cutting-edge features include: 

·       Press wheels and cam adjustment that quickly adjust to control seed depth 

·       ACRATUFF V-Slice insert for accurate and proper seed placement 

·       Self-cleaning notch disc that aggressively chews through the heaviest residue

·       Heavy-duty parallel linkage that assures uniform soil penetration

Does ShieldAg offer the “360 Yield” point, or equivalent?

ShieldAg’s Conservation Ripper Points (CRP) are designed to improve yield, increase nutrient availability and root uptake, assure moisture retention, provide fracture and lift with little surface disruption, and much more! Made of 25% solid chrome carbide, they’re available in 7” and 10” sizes, winged or narrow with no wings. Both sizes and models feature mounting boots designed to fit most makes and models of disc rippers and subsoilers.

I am looking for a certain “u-bolt”, do you have any?

ShieldAg offers American-made u-bolts in range of sizes and dimensions. All of our u-bolts are zinc-plated for corrosion resistance, rated ASME Grade 5 for strength and toughness, and pull tested. They come with nuts and lock washers. Visit our website for more details and to find a u-bolt that meets your needs.

What would cause my replacement points to wear faster than normal?

Many factors can affect wear. Usually a higher horsepower tractor means increased speed which in turn leads to more wear. Additionally, faster wear could be attributed to different ground conditions during different times of the year, or annual weather patterns.

I want the same knife I have but I don’t know what it is or where I bought it?

I want to buy coulters for my machine, what should I buy?

ShieldAg distributes a full line of coulters and specialty blades for fertilizer coulters. Your desired coulter will depend on what you are trying to accomplish. Here are our coulter models and the circumstances in which they work best: 

·       PL is a plain, flat edge. It runs sharp and does not disturb the ground.

·       FL is fluted all the way to the edge. It leaves a bigger opening in the field.

·       FLC is a fluted coulter with flat plain edge. It takes the ground well and opens the ground like the fluted FL model.
